Jensen Huang says NVIDIA signed a letter explaining why open models matter.
His first post argues that AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. The letter says open models:
- strengthen safety and cybersecurity
- accelerate innovation and diffusion
- enable sovereignty
- complement frontier closed models rather than replace them
Mira Murati amplifies the point, saying the knowledge that makes AI useful is distributed across scientists, engineers, clinicians, and firms, so AI itself must also be distributed if the benefits are to be shared.
