Codex’s copy session ID feature makes cross-session context reuse easier
kevinkern · x · 2026-07-26
The author says Codex’s Copy session ID feature is useful because it lets them paste a session ID into a prompt and have the model read what was discussed in /.codex/session/<sessionid>. They also prefer threads over side chats because threads do not expire, which makes them easier to reuse when doing parallel work outside the main conversation.
