Kimi CEO says AGI needs a new organization, not just new technology

In a 31-minute GeekPark interview, Kimi CEO Zhilin Yang argues that OpenAI did not invent anything fundamentally new; it combined three existing ingredients into ChatGPT.

He says AGI may require a new organizational structure more than a new technology stack. Traditional companies, in his view, cannot build it, and the right path is to start from scratch. He also claims there is no fundamental blocker in sight: keep improving lossless compression, and intelligence can keep rising, potentially beyond human level. He adds that Google can produce a Transformer, but not ChatGPT, because its organization cannot do it.
