Wayfinder argues trading agents need a secure home, not just a model
The post compares Robinhood’s new agentic trading MCP with Wayfinder’s own approach. The claim is that Claude Code or Codex alone are great general coding agents, but they are not enough for trading because each trade would require the model to improvise like a Web3 engineer, operate blindly, and depend on the user’s laptop staying open.
Wayfinder’s pitch is to turn the same model into a trader with a dedicated execution layer:
- typed actions like hyperliquidplacemarketorder, onchainswap, and polymarketplacelimitorder
- adapters across perps, DEXs, lending, yield, and prediction markets
- a safer, persistent home for live trading workflows
The broader argument is that the value is not the base model itself, but the productized trading environment around it.
