ECCV Faces Backlash Over Forced Full Registrations for Visa-Blocked Students
gan_chuang · x · 2026-07-25
An AI researcher complained that their group's students cannot attend ECCV in person due to visa issues, yet the conference still forces them to pay for multiple full registrations.
According to ECCV's policy, every accepted paper must be covered by a full registration (student or virtual registrations do not qualify), and one full registration can cover up to two papers. This rigid rule has sparked frustration over the financial burden placed on researchers unable to attend.
