Claude and ChatGPT both use the same MCP connection model, just with different labels

The poster connected the same MCP server to both Claude and ChatGPT and found the experience surprisingly similar.

ChatGPT exposes it as a plugin behind a developer-mode toggle with an “elevated risk” warning, while Claude presents it as a connector in settings. In both cases, the same URL is entered in a form, both can answer workspace questions, and both ask for approval before writing anything. The takeaway: the connection belongs to the user, not the model.
