OpenAI says Codex should eventually do anything you can do by clicking in an app
SIGKITTEN · x · 2026-07-25
OpenAI’s Codex north star is to make the system able to do anything a user can do by clicking through an app. The long-term vision is to stop managing threads manually and instead tell ChatGPT Voice what should be true, letting it coordinate the agents needed to make it happen.
That frames Codex as more than a code assistant: it’s a control layer for app actions and multi-agent orchestration.
