Tencent has merged its Hunyuan language-model and multimodal teams into a single foundation-model division, putting chief AI scientist Yao Shunyu in charge.
The article says the move ends the dual-track setup introduced in April and is meant to improve collaboration and push toward a full-modal model stack. It also notes that Hunyuan’s model lineup now spans text, image, video, speech, and 3D, with Hunyuan 3.0 reportedly seeing strong usage growth and Hunyuan 3D World Model 2.0 topping 3 million downloads.
