Tencent merges Hunyuan multimodal and LLM teams under Shunyu Yao

Tencent says it has merged its Hunyuan multimodal-model team and large-language-model team into a single foundation-model department.
The new unit will be run by Tencent chief AI scientist Shunyu Yao, with the goal of improving model development efficiency, strengthening collaboration, and pushing the ceiling of full-modal intelligence.
