ecaface · ghdev · 2026-07-24
What happened
A second Codex bug report confirms that the Windows VS Code extension crashes in multi-root workspaces with ReferenceError: process is not defined.
Comparison
- Works in an empty VS Code window
- Works in a single-folder workspace
- Crashes immediately after adding a second folder
- A working build (26.715.61943) is contrasted with the broken build (26.721.30844)
Impact
The panel shows An error occurred, and the regression is reproducible as soon as the workspace changes from one root to two roots.
