Daily Diff cuts infographic size from 720 KB to 40 KB and adds lazy loading

Arpit Bhayani says Daily Diff is now seeing about 50 concurrent readers and is already being tuned for performance.
He cut each infographic from roughly 720 KB PNGs to about 40 KB JPEGs by resizing to 560 px and compressing at 90% quality, moved assets from the codebase/Vercel to object storage plus a dedicated Bunny CDN, and added lazy loading so off-screen images are not fetched until needed.
He also says the site is still getting relevance-algorithm tweaks and invites feature requests for the newspaper-style interface meant to keep engineering and AI updates in one always-open tab.
