A former Siri engineer says he could not reliably use voice input himself because of stuttering and quiet speech, so he helped spark VOX: a device that picks up voice through the body rather than the air.
The pitch is that VOX works at whisper volume, in loud environments, and across devices and agents. The founder frames it as a privacy- and accessibility-focused alternative to conventional microphones, with a keyboard-like experience rebuilt around a stethoscope-style input method.
The post positions voice as a core human-computer interface for an agent-heavy future, but argues today’s microphones still fail in real-world conditions.
