Bain & Company was recently named an 'OpenAI Elite Partner.' Industry veteran David Linthicum criticized such consulting partnerships, highlighting a severe conflict of interest.
He points out that when consulting firms receive preferential treatment and revenue-sharing from a specific AI vendor, they lose their objective stance. They effectively become the vendor's sales arm, pushing a specific tech stack rather than providing bespoke solutions that genuinely fit a client's legacy systems, security needs, and workflows.
