UMD study pays $150 to test whether output distributions speed prompt iteration

A University of Maryland PhD study is recruiting LangGraph/LangChain and agent-workflow developers for an IRB-approved experiment on whether showing the distribution of node outputs helps people iterate on prompts faster.
- $150 compensation in gift cards: $75 after a 75-minute Zoom session, then $75 after a week of use and a 30-minute follow-up interview.
- Participants will do recorded think-aloud debugging tasks, then use the tool in their own workflow for about a week.
- The research question is whether output-distribution visibility improves prompt iteration, or just adds another dashboard.
