Anthropic said Claude helped bootstrap an AMD Instinct MI355 rack on ROCm, with one engineer leaving the model running over the weekend and coming back to a performance graph that kept improving.
The point of the anecdote is that software compatibility and a growing installed base matter less as a CUDA moat if models themselves can speed up bring-up on new hardware platforms.
