A China AI roundup spans embodied systems, layoffs, coding agents, and standards

Amap/Alibaba said its ABot embodied system has been upgraded across the stack, with five new models covering perception, decision-making, execution, memory, and motion. The company frames it as a closed-loop system linking world models, base models, and embodied-agent architecture.
Amazon reportedly laid off staff in its AGI division, while Uber cut 10% of its customer support jobs as part of a broader AI-driven reorganization.
A leaked DeepSeek investor meeting emphasized that the company’s real goal is AGI, with consumer and enterprise products treated as side effects of technical progress.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang argued the U.S. should not ban or restrict Chinese AI models, saying the market misread the impact of DeepSeek and Kimi.
