The post argues that “loopmaxxing” was a short-lived trend: loops are useful only when they have clear goals, exit conditions, and error recovery. Done poorly, they become self-defeating. The attached screenshot quotes Simon Willison saying loops were originally a patch for models that couldn’t reliably continue on long tasks, but newer models like Fable and GPT-5.6 can do that natively.
