Beff Jezos warns that AI centralization is itself an existential risk
In response to Max Hodak’s argument about labs potentially stopping token sales and moving up the value chain, Beff Jezos says the real danger is over-centralization of AI.
He frames this as a long-standing existential risk: if a handful of labs control access to intelligence, the damage could extend beyond the AI industry into capital markets and social cohesion.
He also takes a shot at Anthropic, saying it is “the worst of all” on Singleton risk because of its obsession with becoming the one to summon a single true AI god.
The core point of the thread is not model capability or pricing, but the broader societal question of whether AI should end up concentrated in a tiny number of companies—or spread across many players.
