A Korean VFX compositor says AI is now embedded in studio pipelines, but Linux locks and client rules are slowing adoption
A VFX compositor in South Korea says local studios are pushing hard to adopt AI, and his own workflow now leans on ComfyUI + Gemini + Grok + Topaz through a mix of free and paid APIs. He says Topaz has become indispensable for generating source elements and upscaling final output.
But he also runs into major friction:
- many studios still operate on locked-down Linux pipelines;
- major clients such as Netflix impose strict GenAI restrictions;
- web-based or restricted-access tools may not be usable inside secure studio networks.
