A YC-backed discussion argues that AI is more likely to “solve” disease indirectly: first by helping make fundamental physics discoveries, then enabling better sensor and assay design, and finally allowing non-invasive biological probing at microscopic resolution at much lower cost.
The quote responds to a counterpoint that AI cannot infer what isn’t in the data. The proposed answer is that AI should also accelerate the acquisition and curation of the right data, not just model existing datasets.
