Amazon cuts jobs in its AGI team as a laid-off researcher looks for CUA roles
A researcher said they were laid off from Amazon AGI on their 23rd birthday and are now looking for new opportunities, especially in computer use agents and post-training.
They said they have been working on GUI agents since October 2024 across:
- computer use at SimularAI
- mobile use at Apple
- browser use at Amazon Science
The post also references recent benchmarks such as OSWorld 2.0 and ALE, arguing that computer use agents are still far from solved.
