A Reddit post asks how teams are handling runaway or compromised agent spending in production.
The author says they are building agents that can pay for APIs and even make purchases, and worries about two failure modes:
- an agent getting stuck in a loop and quietly burning money
- a prompt injection or compromise causing a malicious payment while staying under the hard cap
They currently use a blunt spending limit, but say that is not enough. The question is what real controls people are using to catch harmful-but-still-under-budget behavior.
