Claude Code 2.1.218 adds CLI, MCP, and accessibility updates
Claude Code’s latest changelog adds a new CLI surface entry, claude-coworker-terminal, and removes the CLAUDECODEENABLEXAA environment variable.
The update also includes several practical workflow changes:
- screen-reader announcements for deleted text in --ax-screen-reader mode
- clearer HTTP status and error text in claude mcp list and /mcp
- warnings when MCP config values contain hidden leading or trailing whitespace
- a clarification that the edit tool performs exact string replacements
The release notes also show a small bundle-size increase and a noticeable rise in prompt tokens, with the prompt mix shifting more toward system tokens.
