Claude Code v2.1.218 ships a background code-review subagent and a string of workflow fixes
Anthropic’s Claude Code v2.1.218 changes /code-review to run as a background subagent so review work no longer clutters the conversation and stacked slash commands stay targeted at review.
The release also fixes a long list of developer-facing issues, including:
- screen-reader announcements for deletions in --ax-screen-reader mode
- broken Windows paths containing \u-prefixed segments like C:\Users\...
- left-arrow edits that could discard the conversation without undo
- better error reporting in claude mcp list and /mcp
- multiline paste collapsing into single lines in some terminals
- stale token-usage reporting after compacting
- /ultrareview handling descriptive arguments more sensibly
- several engine, tool, and transcript corruption bugs
