Cursor’s new Router is pitched as a model selector for coding tasks, delivering frontier-quality results at 60% lower cost.
The quoted take argues that the second half of the year will be about two things:
- Cost efficiency as spending gets out of hand
- Evals that measure not just model quality, but also the quality and efficiency of routers
In other words, routing is becoming a first-class engineering problem in agentic coding workflows.
