Factory Co-founder Predicts 90% of Coding Agent Tokens Will Be Fully Autonomous in 12-24 Months

The co-founder of Factory AI points out that 99% of current AI agents are still in Copilot mode, relying heavily on human prompts to kick off tasks. He predicts a shift towards true Agent-native workflows in the next 12 to 24 months.
During this period, 90% of token consumption is expected to come from fully autonomous and asynchronous agents. These agents will independently detect customer signals and proactively deliver first-pass fixes without human intervention, driving the proliferation of true "Software Factories."
