Elon Musk says Optimus could become Tesla’s biggest product ever, and argues the robot is now the company’s main focus.
- Musk claims Optimus would combine human-like manual dexterity, an AI mind that can navigate the physical world, and very high-volume manufacturing.
- He says Tesla has to recreate parts of the actuator supply chain from scratch because no existing supplier can provide them.
- The post frames Tesla as a “machine that builds the machine”: cars, rockets, and satellites were outputs of the underlying manufacturing systems, and Optimus would be the next, larger version of that playbook.
- It also argues that widespread humanoid robots could upend how society measures labor, value, and economic scarcity.
