An AI agent can modify itself — or, as the post puts it, “anything, really.” The key implication is that agent systems are moving beyond fixed behavior into workflows where the agent can alter its own code or surrounding environment.
That raises both opportunity and risk: more autonomy can unlock powerful automation, but it also makes control, evaluation, and safety boundaries harder to reason about.
