Samsung’s Android XR smart glasses add Gemini, cameras, and up to 9 hours of battery life
Samsung reportedly shared more technical details about its new smart glasses at Galaxy Unpacked. The glasses are being developed with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker on the Android XR platform with Google Gemini integration.
Confirmed or reported features include:
- Open-ear speakers and multiple microphones
- Built-in camera with recording indicator LED
- Gemini and Bixby support
- Navigation, live translation, message summaries, and photo capture
- Visual AI that can answer questions about what the wearer is looking at
- Up to 9 hours of battery life, plus a charging case with about 7 additional full charges
Reported hardware includes the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1. Samsung has not yet disclosed price, exact launch date, or full specs. The glasses are expected to launch later this fall, positioning Samsung in the growing AI eyewear race against Meta, XREAL, Viture, and others.
