Atome LM claims similar MCU accuracy with models 5× to 70× smaller

Tilelli’s benchmark compares Atome LM against deployable TensorFlow Lite Micro baselines across 18 datasets for embedded ML workloads.

Key results:

The authors say the most interesting result is not accuracy alone, but size: in many tasks, Atome LM produced artifacts that were roughly 5× to over 70× smaller than the best deployable TFLite Micro model.

They note this benchmark is for Atome LM V3, scheduled for release next month. V2 is already open source on GitHub and claimed to run on a $5 chip, with 12 AI apps and real-hardware verification.
