Tesla reportedly ships an HW3 FSD update distilled from the larger HW4 model

Tesla reportedly pushed an updated FSD model to HW3 cars that was distilled from the larger model running on HW4.
The poster argues this is a useful example of distillation: if performance stays close, it may mean the larger model had unused capacity; if not, the smaller hardware target will likely expose information loss in edge cases. The real test will be how the HW3 version performs in practice.
