Prompt library idea: delete rules, test variants, keep only what matters
_ScottCondron · x · 2026-07-22
A user asks whether there is already a library that can perturb prompts by deleting rules or conditions and then evaluate each variant against a dataset.
The goal is to automatically trim the fat from bloated prompts and discover which instructions actually matter. Conceptually, this is a prompt-optimization workflow:
- generate prompt variants by removing constraints
- run them over a dataset
- compare performance to identify unnecessary instructions
It’s a concrete idea for building better prompt-testing tooling, especially for agent and workflow-heavy systems.
