Codex CLI fails Linear OAuth with “No authorization support detected”
A bug report against openai/codex says codex mcp login linear now fails immediately with “No authorization support detected” on fresh installs of Codex CLI 0.144.4 and 0.144.6 in a headless Linux container.
According to the report:
- No authorization URL is produced.
- No callback listener starts.
- The OAuth flow never begins.
- codex mcp list shows Linear as enabled but Auth as unsupported.
- The issue reproduces even with explicit experimentalusermcpclient=true.
The reporter believes this is a regression relative to an earlier fix and provides a minimal reproduction plus exact config.
