Octen says it rebuilt web search for AI agents instead of humans.
The post argues that agents explore a question across many paths at once, so legacy search APIs are the wrong abstraction. Octen claims a machine-oriented stack with index, ranking, and serving layers, and highlights 62 ms latency and $1 per 1,000 calls.
The attached benchmark image shows Octen at P50 62 ms / P90 68 ms, far ahead of competitors such as Tavily Ultra-Fast, Parallel Turbo, Exa Instant, and Parallel Adv.
