Claude Desktop’s Filesystem connector fails every call, even after reinstalling
Paxe360 · reddit · 2026-07-22
A Claude Desktop user reports that the Filesystem connector has started failing on every call with a generic “Tool execution failed” error, including the basic listalloweddirectories check. The issue persists after reconnecting the connector, restarting the app, rebooting, disconnecting other connectors, and even reinstalling Claude Desktop.
Because the failure survives a full reinstall, the user suspects the problem is on the backend connector service rather than anything local. They ask whether others are seeing the same outage or know of an open incident.
