Claude helps trace a Ducati cluster failure from blinking LEDs to firmware code

RexDouglass · x · 2026-07-22

A developer describes hacking into a Ducati cluster board with thousands of voltage glitches, which left the cluster stuck in a blinking-light animation.

To diagnose it, they had Claude analyze the blink pattern and frequency, then traced the exact firmware region producing the lights and LCD output. The analysis pointed to code reached only after a failed firmware integrity check, likely triggered by flash-memory corruption from the glitching attack.
