Poolside says Laguna S 2.1 is a 118B open-weight agentic coding model with 1M context

Poolside’s Laguna S 2.1 is described as a 118B-total, 8B-active open-weight model for agentic coding and long-horizon tasks, with up to 1M tokens of context.

The company says it tops its weight class, can run on a single NVIDIA DGX Spark, and is available through Hugging Face, OpenRouter, the Poolside API, and pool under OpenMDW-1.1.

The quoted thread argues the model is only part of a broader story about building capable models in the West and the economics around them.
