PNAS special issue on generative AI law covers safety, copyright and governance

Christopher Manning says it is gratifying to see how far empirical NLP and law research has come since the late 2000s.
He highlights a new PNAS special feature, “Law in the Age of Generative AI,” which covers:
- AI safety and copyright
- AI governance
- statutory interpretation and related legal questions
He notes that he helped shape the idea, and thanks the editors and contributors for bringing it together.
