OpenAI says Codex is now faster and easier to navigate, with updates across long chats, the sidebar, reviews, side chats, and everyday workflows.
- The sidebar is steadier: tasks stay in place, forks get clearer names, titles are easier to read, unread tasks can be marked read, and drag-and-drop is smoother.
- Side chats and subagents are easier to follow, with active state appearing sooner and queued follow-ups turning into side chats without copy-paste.
- Review context is easier to scan because file status is now visible in the review tree.
- Other tweaks include drafts persisting across task switches, faster search shortcuts, clickable breadcrumbs, previews staying attached to the right task, and automations following local time.
