Microsoft open-sources Resource2Skill to turn tutorials into executable agent skills

aigclink · x · 2026-07-21

Microsoft’s open-source Resource2Skill turns tutorials, videos, code, articles, and papers into executable agent skills.

The project builds a two-layer “skill wiki” and “skill library”: agents can browse structured skill entries, then execute domain-specific assets through MCP servers. Microsoft says the approach is open-source and reproducible, with a command-line pipeline that can analyze a YouTube video or batch-collect sources. Reported results include an 11.9-point gain over agents without skills, wins in 26 of 28 model-domain settings, and evaluation across seven practical creation domains including web, PowerPoint, Excel, Blender, and REAPER.
