Marker 2’s release is backed by benchmark results showing a strong tradeoff between quality and speed.
- On the OLMOCR-Bench (1,403 PDFs), Marker · balanced scores 76.0 at 2.9 pages/sec on GPU.
- Marker · fast scores 66.6 at 7.4 pages/sec.
- Marker · fast, no OCR runs on CPU at 23.7 pages/sec with a 43.6 score.
- The chart positions Marker 2 ahead of MinerU, docling, and liteparse on the quality-throughput curve.
The post also notes that Marker converts PDFs, images, and DOCX files into Markdown, and is designed to work on both CPU and GPU.
