Japan’s MW team says it has finished Gen1 of MW-bot, a semi-humanoid home robot designed to fit into domestic space rather than look like a traditional humanoid.
What it does
- Folds away in a pantry-like storage space when idle
- Moves on ceiling and wall rails
- Uses dual arms for chores such as laundry, sorting, and carrying
System concept
- MW-bot is part of the broader MW Intelligence system
- The “brain” handles voice interaction, appliance control, and environmental awareness
- The robot is the physical embodiment of a broader “Living Home” ecosystem
Roadmap
- Further mechanical refinement
- Better AI reasoning
- Preparation for mass production
- Deeper home integration
- Targeted product timeline: 2028
The post frames the design as a specifically Japanese answer to compact living: discreet, integrated, and built to blend into the home.
