Claude desktop on Windows shows Medium effort for every remote Code session
ts7fx · ghdev · 2026-07-21
A Claude desktop user reports that remote Code sessions on Windows always display “Medium” effort, even when the actual session effort is higher.
The reporter says the model name syncs correctly, but the effort field does not. On the macOS host, the CLI shows the right per-session effort such as high or xhigh, while the Windows desktop app falls back to Medium for every opened session. That suggests a display-layer sync bug rather than a session-level config problem.
