A de-identified chest X-ray demo with Kimi K3
- The post shows a real public chest film with a genuine left whiteout. The patient info is synthetic and only used to demonstrate de-identification.
- On-device de-identification removes PHI in two places: DICOM headers are stripped according to the PS3.15 standard, and OCR blacks out the burned-in banner on the image itself. The author says 0 identifiers survive.
- The cleaned image is then sent to Kimi K3 for vision inference via Hugging Face Inference Providers.
- The model identifies the left-sided whiteout. The author explicitly says this is a demonstration, not a diagnosis.
- They also note that the weights land on Jul 27.
