Australia to require AI data centers to add power back to the grid

Australia will require large AI data centers to add at least as much electricity to the grid as they consume.
The rule is aimed at ensuring that new AI compute demand does not simply strain the power system; operators would need to contribute comparable new supply back to the grid.
