Claude Code’s verification bias helps engineering, hurts creative work

The author says Fable’s RL plus the Claude Code system prompt has pushed the model to rely much more on deterministic verification than before. That is helpful for software engineering, but less ideal for creative or semi-creative tasks. For audio-production work, the author is considering other harnesses after repeatedly asking Claude to re-run Ableton exports and getting long, overly careful verification-style responses instead of a quick redo.
