Silicon Valley VC Marc Andreessen shares a profound philosophical take on AI: its underlying physical material is simply the Earth's most abundant resource—sand (silicon).
He points out that the universe spent 13.8 billion years evolving biological brains via carbon, water, and amino acids. Yet, in less than a century, humans arranged silicon (sand), applied electricity, and successfully created a second material form capable of hosting consciousness.
