Future Ads: Outsourcing Thinking to AI
Speckart · reddit · 2026-07-20
A set of "dystopian" concept ads imagining a near future where humans increasingly rely on AI for reasoning, judgment, and decision-making, eventually only needing to click "Proceed" among options. The core is an "Overseer" system (worn as glasses or pendant) that sees and hears like you, uses your life context, and tells you what to do next or offers paths like "safest/low-risk/high-reward". The author argues this trend doesn't require true AGI; current large models with enough context and orchestration could achieve it. The problem is it makes people less mentally engaged and more dependent on machines.
