Claude Projects and MCP Are a Mess
Elektro121 · reddit · 2026-07-19
The author is trying to organize their Claude workflow: simultaneously using iOS Claude Chat, Claude Co-Work on Windows/Mac, and integrating various MCP configurations (including cloud MCP and local MCP clients). While they understand how to use MCP to enhance conversations, they found Claude Desktop's project management to be highly chaotic when creating a new project to clean up Home Assistant.
Specific frustrations include: Chat and Co-Work projects being split into different "Local" states, Claude Chat memory no longer linking to Co-Work projects, unclear differences between Chat and Co-Work, and certain local projects requiring dispatch for access. They are wondering if others share this experience and how everyone manages these projects.
