Haiku is Faster and More Stable in Proposal Generation
ArthitectureHome · reddit · 2026-07-19
In a production pipeline for Upwork proposal generation, the author ran 9 tests across 3 real freelance jobs to compare Claude Haiku against DeepSeek V4 Pro/Flash.
The conclusion: Haiku is the most stable, succeeding all 9 times with an end-to-end speed 3–10 times faster than both DeepSeek versions. DeepSeek V4 Pro took 67 seconds during the question extraction phase on the longest task and timed out directly; the author also noted that in one sample, 91% of its output tokens were invisible reasoning tokens. DeepSeek V4 Flash, while being the cheapest option at roughly 1/3 the cost of Haiku per run, was still 3–5 times slower and also experienced a timeout.
